I am a professional historian, genealogist and story collector who believes that family history is about far more than names and dates. It's about the people behind them, their adventures, hardships, friendships, homes and hopes. Every ancestor lived a life as rich and complex as our own, and uncovering those lives is what I love most.

With more than a decade of research experience, I help clients trace their ancestors, solve family mysteries and reconnect with the people who came before them. Every project is approached with curiosity, care and a detective's eye for detail, whether exploring centuries-old parish records, reconstructing forgotten family stories or tackling particularly challenging research puzzles. When required, I also offer specialist research using genetic genealogy, palaeography and house history to answer questions that traditional research alone cannot.

Alongside my professional work, I am undertaking a PhD at the University of Strathclyde, where I research the history of childhood, intergenerational relationships and family life in nineteenth and early twentieth-century England. My academic work is driven by the same curiosity that inspires my client research: discovering how ordinary people experienced extraordinary lives.

Born and based in Devon, I have a deep love for the county that first sparked my fascination with history. From winding lanes and ancient villages to forgotten farms and windswept moorland, Devon taught me that every landscape holds echoes of the people who lived there before us. While the South West will always feel like home, I delight in following family stories wherever they lead, across Britain and around the world.

For me, genealogy is a little like opening a storybook whose pages have been scattered across archives, churches, libraries and family collections. Piece by piece, those pages come together to reveal lives that deserve to be remembered.
